With teenagers
Adolescence can bring up many upheavals and be a challenging time.
Seeking a psychologist may come from the teenager as well as their parent. Parents do not attend sessions though we may meet on occasions to talk about how things evolve on both sides depending on the situation and needs of the patient. Everything addressed during sessions is strictly confidential, nothing will be discussed with parents without the teenager's prior consent.
However, teenager’s agreement on having sessions is imperative in order to move forward as it is not possible to do so when there is no demand.
Parental authorization is mandatory for minors.
The first session, as for adults, is a meeting between the teenager and the psychologist where we will talk about your needs, your wishes and the answers I may provide.
During video therapy, consultations are a face-to-face dialogue between you and me.
